Keepin’ Up With KapFresh

Today we’re all about a 22 year old hip-hop rapper, performer, producer, singer and songwriter based in the West of Johannesburg (Roodepoort), Gauteng, who is new, fresh and upcoming with an amazing sound and impressive talent, with his beat making skills mixed with his killer flow and lyrical techniques as well as immaculate show stopping performances.

KapFresh was involved in the Fame Music South Africa Online Competition and did exceptionally well and thanks to his fans in February 2012 he won the #BitchNaBottle competition at Capital underground in Rosebank and he has also been part of the Blackberry Talent Search Rap finalists mentored by AKA in 2012.
In 2013 KapFresh has been to numerous exclusive radio interviews such as Kofifi FM, Eldos FM, Y FM, UJ FM, Mogale FM, VOW FM, Westside FM, VUT FM (Vaal University), Mo FM (Monash University) with one of his singles titled “50 Shades of Fresh” produced by KapFresh himself has tipped over 3500 downloads and was number 1 on “Triple Threat” Y.V.M on Westside FM for 5 WEEKS running. The single also was number 1 on Westside FM “Top 8 @ 8” for 3 weeks in a row.

His second single titled #Bozza produced by KapFresh too is currently being air played by the above mentioned radio stations. KapFresh has also been on YFM: The Full Clip, UJ FM: Cypher Nights & uKhozi FM: Clever Unga Give Up as well as Rap Activity Jam on Metro FM.

KapFresh has also been interviewed by Linda Mbuso on the 21st of December 2013 live on YFM 99.2 on his show #PeopleWeShouldKnowAbout which boosted his already colossal fan base. December 2013 KapFresh was nominated and won Best Hip-Hop in the Westrand Upcoming Artists Awards and also got The Honorary Award in Hip-Hop.

“Eyes on Me” produced by KapFresh is his latest single and is making major air play on radio stations and continues to do interviews and increasing download units. KapFresh kicked of the single by performing on ShizNiz on E.TV on the 9th of July accompanied with an interview. The single made its first debut airplay on Thando Thabete’s Audio Treat Show on Saturdays, a feature called ‘Versus’ on Y FM 99.2 and has well over 4000 downloads. The single also was number 1 on Kasi Mp3’s #TheComeUp for 4 weeks and got great reviews and feedback.

KapFresh was also selected as one of Hype Magazine’s “Newcomer Delight Rapper” for June/July issue (issue #61, page 23) on South Africa’s biggest hip-hop magazine and went on to win it all thanks to his loyal and strong fan base. KapFresh also had a one-on-one interview on Y FM 99.2 and was also known as #TheMostValuablePerson alongside Ayanda MVP. KapFresh was also invited to #RapActivityJam alongside Oskido and Rude Boy Paul live on Metro FM. The single “Eyes on Me” also made it to the top 20 singles of 2014 in the Jagermeister Back the Artist Competition that ran under Hype Magazine.

Currently KapFresh is working to release the third single off his mixtape called “Won’t Stop” (He eh!) and its also received air played in the above radio stations above. Cava KapFresh on Yo TV (SABC 1) were he had a live interview and performed his latest single “Won’t Stop”

KapFresh had a few words to share; “Not only did I get an opportunity to perform in front of my campus but to get a hand shake and a ‘Props to you and Well done’ from Reason himself was truly a blessing. I would like to thank UJ’s Alumni team for having faith in me in being the only performer there alongside Reason”. He performed two of his singles “Won’t Stop (He eh!)” and Dreams Remix both produced by himself. 

He’s is currently working on his debut Mixtape titled “KK, Myself & KapFresh”, which a self-produced Mixtape done by himself. KapFresh also has his own mobile website where people can easily access his musical material from beats to his music absolutely free!
